Call for Abstracts

Please, inform your students, colleagues and interested parties

There will be a poster session during the 71th Annual Meeting of the Subtropical Agriculture and Environments Society on February 3, 2017. Abstracts of the presentations and posters will be published in the Subtropical Agriculture and Environments Journal. If you would like to present a poster, please submit an abstract by January 27, 2017 by e-mail (MS Word attachment) to Veronica Ancona-Contreras, Veronica.Ancona-Contreras@tamuk.edu; indicate “Abstract” in the subject line and please PROOFREAD your abstracts as they will be published as submitted.

 

Students who submit posters AND present a 3-minute (oral) communication to share their results will be eligible to get one of the awards for the top 3 places (abstracts of posters that are not presented will be published but will not be eligible for an award). Posters should be prepared, saved as a pdf file and submitted for evaluation to Veronica.Ancona-Contreras@tamuk.edu (email attachment) no later than January 27, 2017. For the oral presentation, students can only use ONE single PowerPoint slide. This PowerPoint slide has to be submitted by January 27, 2017. The poster should be set up by 4:00 pm on the day before the meeting.

Abstract format: Title (bold) Author(s) (bold) Affiliations (italics; not bold; one affiliation per line; include corresponding author’s email address) Abstract (normal font). Limit to 1 paragraph of no more than 275 words.

Poster format: Dimensions: The poster should NOT exceed 36”Wx48”L (91×122 cm). Title lines: Brief but informative title, authors’ names and affiliations. Use a simple sans serif-face font such as Arial. Lettering for the title should be at least 1 inch; the authors’ names and affiliations may be somewhat smaller. Content: Please use tables and figures and limit verbiage; research details can be provided in discussions with interested parties; lettering for text and illustrations should be legible from a short distance. Display: A poster board (~36”Wx48”L) will be provided for mounting each poster.
